We're aware of this (it's linked with the W3C CSV on the web working group – Adam has had some some involvement with that and I'm following it quite closely), our work started earlier, but has taken longer to get to the formal release stage. Of course it would be great to align them, but the ODI approach is very much tied to JSON, which doesn't necessarily fit with our more plain English approach and delegating schema writing to less technical staff. As it stands, the online nature of CSV-lint is also potentially problematic as our metadata files may contain information that's still subject to FOI exemptions.

The ODI effor includes an online validator, and they also have a 'competing' schema format for describing tabular data. Maybe these efforts can be aligned over time?
