We are delighted to announce that Becky Wilson (formerly Becky McGuinness) has been chosen by our Board of Directors as the latest recipient of an OPF Lifetime Personal Membership Award.
During her time as OPF’s Community Manager (2010-2022), Becky played a vital role in growing the organisation into what it is today. Becky spearheaded key initiatives including the first digital preservation community blog, our ever-popular webinar series, and our 10th-anniversary conference, OPFCON.
Becky said:
As the first member of staff at OPF, I’ve had the privilege to help grow the OPF community and work with enthusiastic and innovative people from around the world. I’m happy to have the opportunity to maintain that connection through this award and I’m excited to see how OPF evolves in its second decade.
Julie Allen, Executive Director of OPF, said:
This award celebrates Becky and her contribution to the Foundation. Since 2010, she has been a cornerstone of OPF and an invaluable member of the digital preservation community, building a welcoming and inclusive community for digital preservation practitioners all around the world.
Launched in celebration of the OPF’s 10th anniversary in 2020, the awards recognise individuals who have made a significant contribution to the OPF and our community. OPF Lifetime Personal Members are long-standing supporters of the Foundation and have helped advance our vision mission, vision and values.
The OPF team and board of directors would like to thank Becky for her hard work and commitment to the Foundation.
